Im trying to change my brake pads on my 2006 saturn vue?

Im trying to change the rear brake pads and I cant get the drums off.Ive beat the drums with a rubber mallet and I still cant move them.Any suggestions?Im trying to change my brake pads on my 2006 saturn vue?i do agree on th e brake but one of the things you might have to do is adjust the brakes. the adjuster will be behind a little oval hole on the back. it will be tough to get them off. once you get them off then you will have to readjust your pads so that when you spin the drum you have little resistance while spinning it.Im trying to change my brake pads on my 2006 saturn vue?Take the emergency brake offIm trying to change my brake pads on my 2006 saturn vue?is there a slot in the front or behind the backing plate to adjust the shoes in away from the drums? here,s what i do when the drum won,t come off. i put a big screwdriver behind the drum and backing plate, pull out on the drum some and hit the drum with a hammer. try that and see if it will come off.
