Brakes are not something to be played around with by a weekend warrior, get a pro to do it right!How do you change the brake pads on a 2004 Monte Carlo?Front wheels: Jack up the car...remove the tires...loosen the calipers....slide out the old pads...decompress the plunger with a C-clamp...slip in the new pads...bolt the calipers back on...install the wheels...let the car back down...start it up...drive it slowly and press on the brake pedal to seat the new pads and plungers. Do this several times. Back wheels: same procedure but you'll have to back off the parking brake before installing the new pads. That takes a special tool...cheap at any auto parts store.
