What do i need to do to change the front brake pads on my 94 chevy blazer?

I need to know step by step and what tools i need to. It is a s10. I have already bought the brake pads so i cant take them back the store wont let me so i have to do it myself! Please helpWhat do i need to do to change the front brake pads on my 94 chevy blazer?OK, honey, ready? Let's go.

1. Make sure that you have a 3/8%26quot; hex head tool for removing the retaining bolts that hold the calipers to the wheel, and a 6 inch C-clamp.

2. Loosen the lug nuts on the passenger wheel slightly, then jack the vehicle up. Support the vehicle on jackstands. DO NOT try to do this with the vehicle on a jack!

3. Remove the lug nuts, and the wheel.

4. On the back side of the caliper (the unit that holds the brake pads), you will find two retaining bolts. They often have rubber protection sleeves around them. There is one at the top of the caliper, and one at the bottom. Take the brake retaining bolt tool (looks like a socket with an allen wrench sticking out of it), and insert it into the hex hole in the head of the bolt, and remove both of them.

5. Once the retaining bolts are out, remove the caliper by grasping it at the top and bottom, and pulling away from the wheel, applying pressure at the top, then the bottom, and repeat as many times as it takes to remove the caliper.

6. Look at the pads, and remember how they are placed. Remove the one on the outside. Leave the one that is against the cylinder on the caliper on. Using a 6 inch C-clamp, open it, and place it on the pad that you left on, and the other side on the back side of the caliper, and close it on the pad, so you put pressure on the cylinder, forcing it back into the caliper. Make sure it goes all the way in.

7. Place the new pad where the old pad was on the outside of the caliper. Make sure the new pad looks exactly like the old one. Then remove the other pad that you used to close the cylinder up, and put the new pad where the old one was, making sure the new pad looks exactly like the old one.

8. Gently place the caliper back on the wheel, sliding it back into place, and put in the retaining bolts. You may have to jiggle the caliper back and forth as you try to put the bolts back in. Make sure you use the tool to tighten the retaining bolts as tight as you can get them.

9. Put the wheel back on, and tighten the lug nuts as much as you can. Use the jack to remove the jackstands and lower the vehicle. Tighten the lugs the rest of the way.

10. Repeat for the other side. (Try to get your dad, or a friend that is mechanically inclined to help you, OK?) Pump your brakes to get the pads to close against the rotor before you try to drive it. Refill the master cylinder, if needed.

Good luck. Hope this helps. What do i need to do to change the front brake pads on my 94 chevy blazer?lol, u want to install brakes with no experience. i see a crash in your future. leave it to the pros, like myself (55 years of brake experience)What do i need to do to change the front brake pads on my 94 chevy blazer?take off the lug nuts, preferably with a compressor driven impact wrench. a tire iron if you dont have an impact wrench (which is actuly not a wrench at all). take off the tire and hit the caliper assembly wit a hammer or sumthin to pop it out of its holder. might be a little hard to get loose. set it on a stool or somethin under the car so the brake line doesnt get pulled on. use a vice grip to force the back pad and the back of the caliper assembly together, which compresses the wheel cylinder. if you cant get the caliper off the rotor you might have to do this first. it is extremely hard to do for girls just cuz we aint as strong as guys, but you'll git er done. pry up the clips on the pads with a screwdriver or somethin and pop the pads out of the caliper. make sure you see which way they come out cuz the new ones go in the same way!!!! clip the new pads in, make sure they go in all the way. hammer the caliper assembly all the way back into its bracket, put the tire and lug nuts back on. TIGHTEN THOSE DAMN NUTS! if they come off ur screwed. pump ur brakes to get the fluid back into the wheel cylinder. drive it slowly in ur driveway to make sure the brakes work. its really not a hard job, pretty easy to learn. if you have questions, ask somebody! good luck! What do i need to do to change the front brake pads on my 94 chevy blazer?get a big c-clamp to push the caliper piston back in, probably a large screwdriver and hammer, it has either star, allen or metric bolts, take them out, push back the sleeves, take off the master cylinder cap, turn the piston back in, using the c-clamp, take the old pads off, save the clip, put the clip on the new pads, install the pads, put the caliper on the rotor, put the bolts back in, tighten them as tight as you can, put the wheel back on and go to the next wheel and do the same. after you get done, start your truck and pump the brakes, after you put the lid back on the master cylinder.
