Then undo the two caliper bolts, 1 on top of caliper, 1 on bottom 10 or 13 mm can't remember off by heart, pull them out. get a small prybar to lift the top of the caliper away from center of rotor(it should be fairly snug) then wiggle the rest of the caliper off. look at the pads and springs, compare them to the new ones to make sure they're the same. pry the outside pad off the caliper. At work we use the old inside pad(on the piston) and a large screw style c-clamp to press the caliper piston back in (it has to be pressed all the way back in or the new pads won't fit over the rotor and always press on the housing and the old pad, never on the piston itself, you will break it and have to buy a new caliper..)(no need to open the bleeder lines just means a little more force is needed to push the piston in but, no bleeding required later.). once the caliper piston is compressed, throw the old inside pad out too( don't worry, the piston isn't under pressure until you push the brake pedal, it won't shoot out at you or anything like that).replace with the new pads and retainers then grease the slider pins( the 2 bolts you took out) and re install them (Those 2 slider pins need grease). The new pads should fit fairly snug to the rotor so they may require a little encouragement to go back on( usually a couple taps from your bestest hammer works great). if they won't at all, the piston isnt pushed in far enough, it should be pretty much flat to the caliper housing when compressed. It is easier to do 1 side at a time as you still have the other assembled side for refererence and it will prevent the other side piston from pressing out as your pressing in the first( if both calipers are off and you push in on the left side one it will push the right side one out as you are displacing the brake fluid). finally since you didn't open the bleeder screws, no need to worry about having to bleed the brake system.repeat for the other side. make sure to pump the brake pedal a few times before moving the car to get pressure back in the brake system. after that drive on!Where can I get a picture/instructions to change rear brake pads on 2003 ford focus on the net?Alldata.com for $30.00 will get you anything you need for your
