Generally you need to clamp the rotor to compress the cylinders back into the rotors to make room for R %26amp; R. In most modern cars, you remove the retaining pins, and the old pads will slide right out. the brakes have 2 main bolts, take them off and they should be like 5 inches long they connect the 2 pieces that connect and preasure the pads in, then when pads are changed you need at least a big C-Clamp to pinch in the brake pistons, just check out the site it probably be better than my simple explanation
